«Oh, why are you alone / You’ve got seven billion people to choose from!»: Being single in a time of constant accessibility, dating-apps, aswell as global networking seems inconceivable – nevertheless many people are alone, often astonished or critically observed by society. «Seven Billion» by Ellas asks the questions behind these currents, compressed in a crisp and catchy song construction of guitars, keys, electric bass and drums, over which a beguilingly warm voice stands. The chorus quoted at the beginning of the song is as simple as it is ingenious and catchy: We have all been alone, but instead of pitying each other, we should decrease loneliness and come together, if desired.
